"One of my fondest, and strongest memories of the Christmas season was the way the Reverend Little used to announce Christmas during the midnight service on Christmas Eve. About 5 minutes before midnight he would invite everyone to join in silent prayer. You would be praying and waiting, and then his clear, strong voice would announce with such joy that it was Christmas Day and Christ was born. As a young boy sitting by myself (I always walked to the church and home again alone even when real young) I was always moved to tears by the love and peace in that voice, to me, that young, like the voice of God."
