"On ...[our]... 09/22/2005 visit to Camp Herrick site, I confirmed that Officers 1 and 2 were still visible and the cement pillars for Officers 3 but no cabin wood remained. I had not really remembered the scene on my first visit of 07/12/2005 and glad to resolve the issue. Charlie Kitchener remembered that scouts did indeed wear sailor caps at one time. Does anyone else remember besides him and Bill Shay? Always a question, and it came up again on our trip, when was Camp Herrick sold? Per Carol Mori, Dane Street Church historian, it was sold on 05/13/1980, sales price $35,000 [for] 8+- acres, plus a right of way to lake. Location per deed, Alton."
